# Upgrade

## Publish Extension

An extension can be published using the Business Central Administrations Shell. To do this, run it as an administrator. Use the following command to publish the extension:

{% code title="Powershell" %}

```powershell
Publish-NAVApp -ServerInstance [Your Serverinstance] -Path [Path of extension]
```

{% endcode %}

{% hint style="info" %}
When entering your data, the square brackets must be removed.
{% endhint %}

## Synchronize extension with database <a href="#id-2-synchronize-extension-with-database" id="id-2-synchronize-extension-with-database"></a>

After you have published the extension, you must synchronize it with your database. To do this, run the following command in the Business Central Administrations Shell:

{% code title="Powershell" %}

```powershell
Sync-NAVApp -ServerInstance [Your Serverinstance] -Name demandPlus+ -Version [New Version]l
```

{% endcode %}

{% hint style="info" %}
When entering your data, the square brackets must be removed.
{% endhint %}

## Perform data upgrade <a href="#id-3-perform-data-upgrade" id="id-3-perform-data-upgrade"></a>

Finally, you must perform a data upgrade. This will uninstall your old version and activate the new version instead. In addition, this step also performs the internal upgrade processes. To do this, execute the following command in the Business Central Administrations Shell

{% code title="Powershell" %}

```powershell
Start-NAVAppDataUpgrade -ServerInstance [Your Serverinstance] -Name demandPlus+ -Version [New Version]
```

{% endcode %}

{% hint style="info" %}
When entering your data, the square brackets must be removed.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://brenkel-solutions-eg.gitbook.io/demandplus+/english/installation/upgrade.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
