# Demand & Supply FactBoxes

![Figure 1: Factboxes](/files/Fg2fwO38IUwdy0IZ5vdr)

## Item Availability

Filtered by Item No., Variant Vode and Location Code from the requisition line, the **current** demand and supply is displayed.\
The “Availability” group is divided into “short-term quantity” and “long-term quantity”: The following calculation applies:\
Short-term quantity = Inventoy – $$\sum$$ Demand\
Long-term quantity = short-term quantity + $$\sum$$ Supply

Quantity planning = Long-term quantity – $$\sum$$ Demand Req. Line + $$\sum$$ Supply Req. Line

If anything has changed compared to the last run of the planning worksheet, the value is marked in “Red”. In addition, the “Quantity Difference” field is set to “Yes”. A click on “Yes” opens a new page, which shows the differences compared to the last run:

## Planning Parameters

Similar to item availability, the current planning parameters of the item are displayed here, depending on the item number, the variant code and the location code from the requisition line. Item card planning parameters are overridden if stockkeeping units exist for the item and they are displayed accordingly in the FactBox. If anything has changed compared to the last run of the planning worksheet, the value is marked in color red. In addition, the Difference field is set to “Yes”.

The same FactBoxes can also be found in the item card and item list without indicating differences.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://brenkel-solutions-eg.gitbook.io/dp-planning-eng/planning-transparency/demand-and-supply-factboxes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
