# Templates

![Figure 1: Templates](/files/Uhv8RW7eJSDYHTqZ1tra)

The peculiarity is that you can create a template for several items. To do this, you need to assign the filters for the individual fields you want to filter in the items. You cannot create a template that does not contain any items in the defined filters.\
For example, if you want to create a template for only one item, you have to specify the item number as a filter. (See screenshot)

## Lot sizes

![Figure 2: Lot sizes](/files/K7C2iGuZm0xgWCkw9B1S)

Once you have specified the filters, you still have to enter the lot sizes.

## Apply Template

![Figure 3: Apply Template](/files/K7ginvRDTNbSBgtKKx4R)

After the filters have been entered and the lot sizes have been stored, the template can be applied. There is the possibility

to create a process (per item), or additionally the calculations.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://brenkel-solutions-eg.gitbook.io/dp-calculation-eng/pre-calculation/templates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
